We begin where you are

Imagine you’re a fish swimming in a big ocean. Now imagine that you have the thought: I don’t like being wet. That fish has a serious problem on their fins. That way of thinking is a surefire path to stress, anxiety, and sadness.

Like the fish, we want to be free from something: An unhelpful pattern of behavior, unwanted thoughts, a job we don’t like, a relationship that’s not working, a future that seems unappealing or a past we can’t shake. We’re swimming in the problem, hoping for dryer land.

People who find real freedom wake up to the realization that thinking like a fish, while trying to swim our way out of a problem, leads to a life of frustration and unhappiness.

The Shift is a process of untangling the net we feel trapped in.
